My name is Jacob Slichter.  I am a professional writer and musician, and I teach creative writing in the MFA program at Sarah Lawrence .

I have extensive experience helping writers, including . . .

I also read essays, stories, manuscripts, and screenplays and provide feedback that respects the aims of the work. 

I have worked with memoirists, novelists, screenwriters, songwriters, and playwrights, and I can fill a variety of roles — mentor, coach, consultant, listener — according to your goals.   My clients span a wide range of experience, from directors of Oscar-nominated films to those making their first forays into creative writing, and I enjoy working with all of them.
